The Randwick Defence Site

The Commonwealth of Australia owns a 70 hectare parcel of land at Bundock and Avoca Streets, Kingsford (known as the Randwick Barracks). Forty nine hectares of this land have been identified as surplus to Defence needs with the remaining proportion continuing to be occupied by Defence for the foreseeable future.

Following extensive community consultation a Masterplan for the site was developed and a parcel of the land sold for housing. Work on a new community centre is nearing completion and work on developing the Randwick Environmental Park has commenced.

Further development of the area is continuing and is being project managed by GHD, an engineering, planning and environmental company.
