The Randwick Defence Site

The Commonwealth of Australia owns a 70 hectare parcel of land at Bundock and Avoca Streets, Kingsford (known as the Randwick Barracks). Forty nine hectares of this land have been identified as surplus to Defence needs with the remaining proportion continuing to be occupied by Defence for the foreseeable future.

Following extensive community consultation a Masterplan for the site was developed and a parcel of the land sold for housing. A new community centre has been completed and handed to Randwick City Council. Work on developing the Randwick Environmental Park has commenced along with the subdivision along the southern boundary.

Further development of the area is continuing and is being project managed by GHD, an engineering, planning and environmental company.
