Defence undertook an extensive consultation program as part of its preparations for the remediation works at Marrangaroo Army Depot.

The NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change, Lithgow Council and Councillors and the Council’s local Environment Advisory Committee were briefed on the project.

Defence held discussions with local residents, industry and the NSW Emergency Services and worked cooperatively with the NSW Emergency Services throughout the excavation work to ensure the safety of all personnel on site and the local residents throughout the project.

Defence would like to thank the Lithgow community for its support of the Marrangaroo remediation project.
