LAND 155 - ENHANCED GAP CROSSING CAPABILITY FACILITIES PROJECT

Community Consultation

The Department of Defence is undertaking a community consultation and communications strategy that recognises the importance of providing local residents, statutory authorities and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to provide input into, or raise concerns relating to the project.

As part of the community consultation strategy, the Federal and State Parliamentary members for each of project works sites are being consulted, as well as local councils and utility providers, where appropriate. The Community will also be notified by a newspaper article and residents in close proximity to the proposed build locations will be notified via mail.

The proposed works are subject to approval by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works (PWC), which conducts inquiries into such matters prior to making a decision.

More information on the PWC process, how to make a submission on the LAND 155 Enhanced Gap Crossing Capability Facilities Project can be found at: http://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Joint/Public_Works/LAND155
