Land 2110 Phase 1B Australian Defence Force Chemical, Biological, Radiological And Nuclear Defence Capability Facilities Project

Welcome to the public website for the LAND 2110 Phase 1B Australian Defence Force (ADF) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence (CBRND) Capability Facilities project.

The aim of the project is to provide new and upgraded facilities at 14 sites nationwide to support the training of personnel against exposure to Toxic Industrial Materials and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear weapons.

The information contained within this web page is intended to complement the information provided to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works. For more information on the committee, please refer to: https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Joint/Public_Works/Role_of_the_Committee.

The proposed works are categorised into three main elements:

  • New Mask Testing Facilities (MTFs) - construction of new facilities within Defence land to undertake individual and collective CBRND training. The MTFs include an enclosed building, undercover outdoor shelter, car parking and service connections.
  • Refurbished MTFs - update and refurbish existing facilities to undertake individual and collective CBRND training.
  • Integrated Logistics Plan (ILP) Storage Solutions - construction of a new hardstand area, lighting and fencing within Defence land. The facility will enable the safe and secure storage of safety gear associated with CBRND equipment for Defence personnel.

The proposed works will generate short-term employment opportunities predominantly in the building, construction and labour markets including opportunities for local businesses.

Subject to Parliamentary approval, construction is expected to commence in early 2019 and be completed by late 2019.
