ADF Health November 1999 - Volume 1 Number 1Foreword by the Surgeon General ADFNew Journal - new outreach
Those who work in the uniformed health professions enjoy the privilege of collegiate interaction in the cognate disciplines of medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy and radiography. This new professional journal will promote the interdisciplinary communication that is potentially so valuable to the ADF. The clinical core of military medicine acknowledges no boundary of operational service. Health professionals in each Service have much to offer those in the other Services; the Defence Health Service is training and organising on triservice lines in recognition of this fact. Defence health is the core business of servicemen and women who come from different disciplines, widely dispersed training and operational bases, separate command structures of the three Services, and the different domains of regular, reserve and civilian employment. This new journal offers a focus of communication to them all. Major General John Pearn AM RFD
