Broome

Participation by medical practitioners in the trial is voluntary. At this stage, there are no medical practitioners in Broome registered for the trial.

To access the medical benefits associated with the trial in Broome, registered dependants may visit the local medical practitioner and claim full gap reimbursement for eligible Medicare items.  The gap payment is the difference between the medical practitioner’s fee and the Medicare rebate.

Dependants will be required to pay their account and claim the Medicare rebate, before submitting a claim to ADF Family Health for eligible Medicare items.  For more information on this solution and how to claim click here.

The benefits associated with this trial are considered a fringe benefit under the FBT Assessment Act 1986. Consequently, the benefit will be subject to FBT and the FBT will be paid by Defence. Depending on individual circumstances, the ‘grossed up’ value of the benefits provided during the FBT year may be recorded on a member’s annual Payment Summary.
