Singleton

There has been an excellent response from doctors in Singleton, and Defence families who have registered for the trial who reside in Singleton will be able to visit any participating medical practitioner for the bulk billing of eligible medical items.  See the following list for participating medical practitioners in your location. 

Defence families accompanying a member posted to Singleton who have registered for the trial, but do not reside in the Singleton area, may claim services using the Gap model.  The ‘Gap’ is the difference between the medical practitioner’s fee and the Medicare rebate, and this model allows registered dependants to visit their local medical practitioner and claim 100% reimbursement of the gap for eligible Medicare items.

Dependants will be required to pay their account and claim the Medicare rebate, before submitting a claim to ADF Family Health.  For more information on this solution and how to claim click here.

The benefits associated with the trial are considered a fringe benefit under the FBT Assessment Act 1986. Consequently, the benefit will be subject to FBT and the FBT will be paid by Defence. Depending on individual circumstances, the ‘grossed up’ value of the benefits provided during the FBT year may be recorded on a member’s annual Payment Summary.
