1. What areas are included in the trial?

Answer:  In line with the Government’s evidence-based policy, a small-scale trial has commenced in certain regional and remote locations.

 

2. If I need to travel to access medical services, will the cost of travel be covered?

Answer: Travel is not covered under this trial.  However, in some circumstances travel may be covered under other Defence programs.

 

3. If I am a registered dependant, can I access the benefits associated with the trial in other trial locations?

Answer: Yes. Information related to accessing medical.  Dental benefits may be accessed at any dentist anywhere in Australia.

 

4. If I reside in a trial location and have registered my dependants for the trial, what am I required to do if I am posted to another trial location?

Answer: There are two tasks that you are required to do to update your registration information:

  • Update your PMKeyS data, including Dependant Details, using Web form AD160;
  • Update your primary contact details using the AD858-2 ADF Family Health Amendment form.  Fax this form to 02 6266 4292.

 

5. If I reside in a trial location and have registered my dependants for the trial, what am I required to do if I am posted to a location that is not included in the trial?

Answer:  In the event that you are posted to a location not included in the trial and your dependants accompany you on the posting, they are no longer eligible to participate in the trial.  Complete Web form AD858-3 ADF Family Health Cancellation form.

In the event that you are posted to a location not included in the trial and your dependants elect to remain in the trial location, your dependants will remain eligible for the trial.  If you wish to update the Primary Contact Details, please complete Web form AD858-2 ADF Family Health Amendment form.
