Directorate of ADF Rehabilitation and CompensationAustralian Defence Force Rehabilitation ProgramOpening Statement by ACM Angus Houston, AC, AFC - Supplementary Budget Estimates - 21 October 2009 The Directorate of ADF Rehabilitation and Compensation (DRC) is responsible to the Commander Joint Health Services (CJHLTH) and the Service Chiefs for overseeing the effective and efficient coordination and delivery of four inter-related programs. The Directorate will reduce the impact of injury or illness on the ADF through the delivery of the following programs:
ADF Rehabilitation CoordinatorsLocated in the Garrison Health Support regions are the ADF Rehabilitation Coordinators who are responsible for the contracting and coordination of rehabilitation case management services. They work to the Deputy Director – Operations (DDOPS) of the DRC and are responsive to the needs of units and commanders in coordinating rehabilitation services for their members. Their duties are:
Program Case ManagerThe Program Case Manager (PCM) is responsible for conducting a Rehabilitation Assessment and, if required, for formulating, implementing and managing a member’s Rehabilitation Program. Once a PCM has been appointed, a rehabilitation goal will be determined based on the findings of the assessment. The PCM will continue to review and assess that member’s progress and recommend rehabilitation program changes to the ADF Rehabilitation Coordinator.
