The Directorate of ADF Rehabilitation and Compensation (DRC) is responsible to the Commander Joint Health Services (CJHLTH) and the Service Chiefs for overseeing the effective and efficient coordination and delivery of four inter-related programs.

The Directorate will reduce the impact of injury or illness on the ADF through the delivery of the following programs:

1. ADF Rehabilitation Program;
2. ADF Compensation Support;
3. ADF Paralympic Sports Program; and
4. ADF Integrated People Support Strategy activities related to Joint Health Command.

ADF Rehabilitation Coordinators

Located in the Garrison Health Support regions are the ADF Rehabilitation Coordinators who are responsible for the contracting and coordination of rehabilitation case management services. They work to the Deputy Director – Operations (DDOPS) of the DRC and are responsive to the needs of units and commanders in coordinating rehabilitation services for their members. Their duties are:

1. As the delegate of the Rehabilitation Authority, arrange and coordinate rehabilitation assessments and rehabilitation programs;
2. Procure and manage rehabilitation case management service providers and monitor their performance;
3. Monitor and review member’s rehabilitation programs;
4. Assist in the development and implementation of the ADF Rehabilitation Program;
5. Manage, collect, analyse and report performance data and expenditure;
6. Manage rehabilitation related administration activities including rehabilitation database, operating procedures and documents; and
7. Manage effective workplace relationships including the coordination of activity and the flow of information between members, senior commanders and managers, internal and external health and rehabilitation providers, and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
