Mission
To Implement and maintain accreditation and certification to all relevant
standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement in the pursuit
of excellence.
Current Activities
AMI has a vigorous and proven commitment to effective quality management. Staff at all levels ensure that our products and services are of the highest standard, producing data with the greatest accuracy and validity. The institute maintains accreditation with the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia/Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (NATA/RCPA) for two major departments, with other departments to follow. AMI has alos achieved certification under the international standard ISO 9001:2000. The institute also conforms to relevant requirements of the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR), the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) and the animal use requirements of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial research Organisation (CSIRO) and Queensland Department of primary Industries (DPI).
Collaborators
The Quality Manager is a WHO-Certified Expert Microcopist and undertakes consultancy with the WHO in approximately 15 countries in the Western Pacific and South East Asia, specifically in the fields of quality management and malaria microscopy training/competency assessment.
