What Defence Offers

 

A career in the Department of Defence offers graduates from all disciplines, unique and exciting opportunities. From day one you will be offered meaningful and challenging work. Whilst on the GDP you will undertake a ten-month program that is carefully managed to introduce you to Defence.

 

This is achieved by combining three (3) varied work rotations, with on and off the job training and other developmental activities. The first rotation is based in Canberra. A regional rotation maybe offered later in the GDP for those who seek a further challenge.

 

Defence offers a huge diversity of occupations, and Defence employees follow a myriad of career paths across Australia. On completion of the GDP, graduates generally undertake a wide range of management, policy and specialist roles.
