DMO Materiel Graduate Scheme - Logistics
I loved being able to do three rotations. It gave me enough time to understand how the Defence Materiel Organisation conducts business and find out where I really enjoyed working.
Connie studied logistics at university and realised trying to find a graduate level job in the field was going to be a challenge
. So when she realised DMO's core business is logistics, she said she felt working for the organisation would give me a great opportunity to utilise my degree and get real, practical experience
.
She said the Logistics Pathway allowed her to network and meet people who could help her in her current and future roles. It also gave me an insight into DMO as a whole and how all the different roles fit in with what I do.
Connie is now working within DMO as an assistant fleet manager, and in two years, hopes to be a manager. The Development Pathway prepared me for this role by allowing me to test where I wanted to go. It gave me the freedom to learn and ask questions without being expected to know all the answers already.
Her tip for those thinking about applying for the Pathway, was simply to Go for it!
Connie completed this Development Pathway in January 2012.
