Pathway highlights:

  • Tailored suite of training that covers leadership, technical, departmental and general skills, needed in the Australian Public Service.
  • On-the-job and off-the-job training, including a week-long Study Tour of Defence facilities outside of Canberra.
  • In each rotation you will be part of a team working to project manage and implement IT solutions to business problems, and make sure Defence has the best and most efficient information environment, now and into the future.
  • We expect you to become a future leader in information management for the Department.

We are looking for strategic thinkers to help manage Defence’s information challenges. You will become part of our team working to project manage and implement IT solutions to business issues. You may be a Business graduate with ICT majors looking for a career in Business Analysis, a Project Manager with ICT experience or a Communications Engineer with interests in Spectrum Management. We expect you to become the future Defence leaders in the information management environment.

We are looking for graduates to work within the Defence Information Environment to ensure that Defence has the best and most efficient information environment now and into the future. We are committed to supporting you with professional development opportunities and specific training.

The Information Technology Pathway takes 10-months to complete and comprises of three rotations of three months each. The first of these is undertaken in Canberra, with the possibility of one in a regional area for those who want a further challenge.

This Pathway is open to graduates with tertiary qualifications in Information and Communication Technology. It offers careers in Project Management, Business Analysis, Systems Administration, Enterprise Architecture, and ICT Security.
