The GDP Finance pathway offers graduates opportunities for either specialist placement in finance or accounting, or general placement offering opportunities to explore and expand your general business skills. We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated graduates who are adaptable, innovative and enjoy working as part of a team. You will be self-aware, display loyalty and consider integrity as a key personal value. We, in return, are committed to your future development, expanding your skills through technical and theoretical training.
The GDP Finance and Business pathway consists of three rotations, usually of three months each for most graduates with the possibility of extended rotations for graduates selected for a number of designated business areas. Graduates will be recruited and developed towards a range of final placements within Defence, including the Defence Materiel Organisation. The first rotation is undertaken in Canberra, with the possibility of one in a regional area for those who want a further challenge.
Your rotations will be tailored toward your final placement position and may be in the Chief Finance Officer Group and/or the DMO, and one will be in a targeted development area to gain a broader understanding and exposure to the Defence organisational enterprise.
Graduates selected for final placement within the DMO will complete at least one rotation within the DMO and their development program may require extension to meet DMO business requirements.
Our finance workforce is employed across all of Defence and the DMO, including civilian areas of the Navy, Army and Air Force.
