The Directorate of Alternative Resolutions and Equity is responsible for the provision of advice on equity related matters and the use of alternative resolutions across Defence. The services provided by are:
- Provision of advice on unacceptable behaviour case management,
- Management of the Alternative Resolution program across Defence,
- Coordinating the provision of mediation and workplace conferencing,
- Provision of advice on training in conflict and unacceptable behaviour management,
- Coordination and training of the Defence Equity Network, and
- Fairness and Resolution Centres.
Trained impartial Defence Equity Advisers provide advise on the complaint management process while making choices available for individuals and managers to facilitate effective resolution.
Trained impartial Alternative Resolutions Practitioners, both from within Defence and external service providers, facilitate the individual interventions. They manage the process so that it is fair for everyone.
