The Defence Environmental Management System is implemented by all Defence Groups and Services. Taking into account the environmental risks attached to Defence activities and projects, the Groups and Services integrate environmental requirements into day-to-day policies, procedures, processes, instructions, contracts, manuals, doctrine, reporting, education and training and, mostimportantly, core values. This ensures everyone in Defence has the means to consider the environmental impacts of their activities and can develop and implement mitigation strategies to continually improve their approaches.
EE in DSRG has the portfolio responsibility for developing Environmental Policies for Defence. EE is responsible for developing and maintaining the overaching Defence Environmental Policy and the Defence Strategic Environmental Plan that set the framework for Environmental Management across the whole Defence portfolio.
