Overseas Administration Team - Allowance Rates

The following rates are provided to assist you in calculating an estimate of your allowances and entitlements. They are provided by the Directorate of Service Conditions.

Representation Allowance (DI(G) ADMIN 23-6 and DCM 5/2004 - ADF)

Representation Allowances for ADF Personnel is the responsibility of the Senior ADF Representative at Post. If you are posted in to a position that attracts Representation Allowances, you will be paid Representation Allowance and Representation Supplement.

For APS employees, your Branch will advise the Rate of Representation Allowance.

The OAT will advise the rate of Representation Supplement (payable to APS only - PACMAN Chapter 15, Part 4, Division 6, clause 15.4.29).

 


Hardship Allowance

Members serving on long-term posting duty at certain overseas posts experience disabilities or hardships beyond those covered by the normal overseas conditions of service package. At these posts, a special conditions of service package has been determined to alleviate the additional difficulties that are likely to be experienced.

Transfer Allowance

The purpose of Transfer Allowance is to compensate for miscellaneous costs associated with overseas removals. Detailed information can be found in

Outlay Advance

Outlay Advance is provided to assist with significant expenditure on initial setting-up costs overseas. This advance may be paid when the formalities associated with the movement to the locality have been substantially completed. The types of expenses that Outlay Advance is provided to assist with are :

An additional amount may be advanced to purchase bulk supplies of food and other essential goods in advance of the posting due to supply problems at the post.

Any amount of Outlay Advance paid to the member, must be recovered in fortnightly amounts over a period of 12 months or period of posting (if less than 12 months) commencing from no later than the first payday after the advance has been received.

Application for Outlay Advanced is made as follows:

Fill out the Outlay Advance deed and submit to the OAT on fax number +61 2 6127 8820.

Payment of Outlay Advance - Form FD 71.

The Maximum amount of Outlay Advance that can be approved is AUD15,000.00.

A lesser amount can be requested.
