Defence Support and industry - working together to support and enable Defence capabilities and priorities

Engaging with industry is fundamental to Defence Support Group's ability to enable and enhance Defence capabilities and organisational performance.

To effectively and sustainably manage the living, working and training environments of Defence employees, Defence Support Group delivers a diverse range of products and services through commercial and collaborative partnerships with industry. Each year, we manage a significant and diverse range of new procurements and ongoing contracts to deliver personnel-related services, garrison services, general business services, legal services and major infrastructure projects. Defence Support Group will continue to engage with various market sectors and potential suppliers to fulfil its mission to be an innovative, agile and cost effective support service that delivers Defence capabilities and priorities.

Defence Support Group is also leading reform for Defence's Non-Equipment Procurement. This involves challenging Defence's current business practices, improving governance arrangements to standardise and streamline the contracting and buying practices across Defence, removing waste and duplication, and implementing initiatives to enhance procurement capability, processes and associated business systems. To help us achieve these outputs and outcomes, Defence Support Group has established a centre of procurement and contracting expertise to undertake procurement and contracting in a commercial, consistent and compliant manner.

Defence Support Group has developed a Defence Non- Equipment Procurement and Estate Industry Engagement Strategy outlining the expectations and behaviours of Defence and industry to facilitate material change, build strong trust and commitment in communication and mutually beneficial relationships as we embrace the opportunities and challenges through continuous business improvement to achieve value for money.
