The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme

The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme Act 2008 (DHOAS Act) came into effect from 1 July 2008. From this date, the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) as the DHOAS Scheme Administrator became responsible for the day-to-day operation of the scheme and is required to provide ADF members with advice on issues relating to eligibility and entitlement. As a consequence of the transfer of responsibility to DVA, the content previously contained on this website has been removed and is no longer accessible. ADF members wishing to obtain further information on the DHOAS can use the following web address to access the DVA DHOAS website:

In line with the transfer of responsibility the former Defence DHOAS e-mail inquiry facility has also been closed.  If you have submitted a query to this address prior to 1 July 2008, a response will be provided at the earliest available opportunity.
