The purpose of this Part is to describe who is eligible to receive conditions of service for deployment. |
|
1. |
Members with diplomatic status are not eligible for conditions of service for deployments within their area of accreditation. Example: Defence Attaches. |
|
2. |
These members may be eligible for long-term posting or short-term duty conditions of service. |
|

Permanent Forces |
the period for which the member is assigned for duty as part of the deployed force and performs that duty. |

a. if the member transferred to continuous full-time service before deploying — the period for which the member is assigned for duty as part of the deployed force and performs that duty. |

b. if CDF grants a member permission to be deployed while on Reserve service — the period for which the member is assigned for duty as part of the deployed force and performs that duty. |

Before granting permission under item 2.b. of the preceding table, the CDF must consider all of the following factors. |

a. |
The effect on the member of deploying on continuous full-time service. |
|
|
b. |
Any other factor relevant to the member's service. |
|
|

Members under the age of 18 are not to deploy to operational areas. |
|
2. |
This exclusion is part of the obligations of the 1998 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. |

These members are managed
in accordance with Defence Instruction (General) Personnel 33-4, |

1. |
A philanthropic representative is someone such as a member of the Salvation Army. |
|
|
2. |
They are officially recognised on a deployment but do not receive a salary from the ADF. Salaries are paid by the organisation they represent. |
|
|
3. |
They may be eligible for most benefits except the following. |
|
|
|
a. |
Home loans assistance. |
|
|
b. |
Deployment allowance. |
|
4. |
The deploying Service headquarters will liaise with the philanthropic organisation about the administrative arrangements. |
|
|
1. |
Exchange personnel from other countries can be on exchange with the ADF and deploy with their host unit. They are not eligible for the ADF conditions of service package. |
|
2. |
The parent country of these personnel is responsible for establishing and providing their own conditions of service for the deployment. |
