15.4.16   Definition – rent groups – ADF only

 

For an ADF member, rent group means the member’s rent group in column 1 of Annex 15.4.A opposite the member’s rank and (if applicable) pay grade and circumstances in column 2.

15.4.16A Definition – rent groups – APS only

1.

For an APS employee, rent group means that group having the relevant salary band within which the employee’s salary falls.

2.

For this clause, an employee’s salary includes.

 

a.

Additional responsibility pay or additional responsibility allowance, if the Secretary certifies that the employee will receive the allowance for a continuous period that is expected to be at least three months.

 

b.

Shift penalties, if

 

i.

the employee is ordinarily required to perform duty under a shift roster; and

 

ii.

the Secretary certifies that it is intended that the employee’s performance of duty under the shift roster is to continue for at least 12 months; and

 

iii.

the penalty payments to the employee, if received for 12 months, would qualify as salary for superannuation purposes.

In this clause, the relevant salary band, for a rent group, is as follows.

from the average of the lower limit of the relevant salary band of group 11 and group 13 to, but not including, the lower limit of the relevant salary band for group 13.

4.

13, 14 and 16

from the rate at which salary is payable from time to time to an employee who is entitled to salary at the point in the scale of rates of salary mentioned in Annex 15.4.AA opposite the rent group to, but not including, the lower limit of the relevant salary band for the next higher rent group.

from the average of the lower limit of the relevant salary band of group 14 and group 16 to, but not including, the lower limit of the relevant salary band for group 16.

from the average of the lower limit of the relevant salary band of group 16 and group 18 to, but not including, the lower limit of the relevant salary band for group 18.

7.

commencing from and extending above the rate at which salary is payable from time to time to an employee who is entitled to the maximum rate of salary payable to an employee having the classification mentioned in Annex 15.4.AA opposite group 18 (This table item is policy guidance)

 

Persons who can make the decision under paragraph 15.4.16A.2.a and subparagraph 15.4.16A.2.b.ii on behalf of the Secretary:

A person working in the Personnel Administration Centre in Southern Victoria who is:

-        Overseas Administration Team Leader

-        Personnel Administration Manager Specialist

-        Civilian and Overseas Personnel Administration Centre Manager

-        Manager Personnel Administration Centre
