Officers pay case – GOPS 09

Background

On 27 February 2006 the Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal (DFRT) approved the establishment of the Graded Officers Pay Structure (GOPS) under the Remuneration Reform Project.

Following the creation of GOPS the ADF made several submissions to the DFRT over 2006-2007, seeking the placement of the ADF’s Officer workforce. The DFRT approved these placements on 09 August 2007.

Aim

The aim of the officers pay case is to review the placement of the following employment categories:

• Navy – Management Executive (MXPQ)
1. MX Tier 1 – Specialist – pay grade 4
2. MX Tier 2 – Strategic Specialist – pay grade 5
3. MX Tier 3 – Senior Strategic Specialist – pay grade 6
• Army – Recognition of Professional Experience – pay grade 7,
• Air Force – Operations Officer (OPSO)
1. OPSO Grade 1 – pay grade 2
2. OPSO Grade 2 – pay grade 3
3. OPSO Grade 3 – pay grade 4
4. OPSO Grade 4/OPSO Grade 3 (with command) – pay grade 5
5. OPSO Grade 4 (with command) – pay grade 6

Progress

The Directorate of Military Salaries and Allowances – Policy (DMSA-P) in consultation with the Services is current preparing a submission for consideration by DFRT.

The DFRT will consider the ADF submission on 15 October 2009.
