On 5 October 2006 a graded pay structure for WO1(E) was introduced, with 8 pay grades and 6 transitional pay grades to allow the roll in of qualification and skill payment.
On 9 August 2007, a new 4 tiered, 8 pay graded structure was introduced. This included additional remuneration for WO2(E) on promotion to WO1(E).
On 4 September 2008 under the Graded Other Ranks Pay Structure, a 10 pay grade 4 tier structure was introduced.
