Subclause 15.2.34.1

Decide that an employee is unable to take leave during a period for the specified reasons, on medical or compassionate grounds.

Authorise payment of an amount of overseas living allowance for a period of unused leave after ceasing a long-term posting.

Approve a period at a posting location as equivalent to the local meal times and hours that the employee normally observes.

Subclause 15.3.25.1

Authorise hire of an official vehicle for casual short-term private use.

Subclause 15.3.25.3

Decide that an employee or dependant should be given a vehicle with a driver, because driving a motor vehicle at or in the region of an employee’s posting location would be an unacceptable risk to their personal safety.

Subclause 15.3.26.1

Allocate an official vehicle to an employee, for continuous full-time private use for a set period of time.

Subclause 15.3.29.1

Waive the requirement to make a contribution for the use of an official vehicle, having regard to the Chief Executive’s Instructions made under the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997.

Decide which close relative to reimburse for travel to visit a seriously ill person at an overseas location when more than one close relative seeks reimbursement.

Reimburse travel costs to a close relative to attend a funeral or to make necessary arrangements because of the death.

Subclause 15.3.35.2

Reimburse travel costs for an employee, the employee's spouse or interdependent partner to visit a close relative.

Clause 15.3.36

Approve reimbursement of cost of fares for a child, having regard to conditions.

Determine that a home is of a suitable standard for the employee's rank and duties at a location.

Subclause 15.4.14.2

Decide that the water available at an employee’s residence is not fit for consumption.

Decide the amount of additional costs incurred by an employee for utilities, which is attributable to the employee failing to exercise care and economy in the use of utilities.

Certify that the employee will receive additional responsibility pay for a continuous period that is expected to be at least three months.

Decide a reasonable reduction of an employee's rent and utilities contribution where, because of a long-term posting, the employee establishes and maintains a household in Australia for a dependant.

Clause 15.5.13

Approve repayment for an eligible person who requires a routine medical check during or after a posting.

Authorise travel at Commonwealth expense so an eligible person may receive treatment at a location other than the posting location.

Clause 15.5.16

Authorise travel of an escort at Commonwealth expense, if considered essential for an eligible person to be accompanied while obtaining medical treatment at another location.

Subclause 15.6.23.1

Approve education assistance when a member needs to make special arrangements because educational facilities at the posting location are inadequate.

Approve extra costs, when they are considered reasonable, when education facilities at posting location are inadequate.

Paragraph 15.6.25.2.b

Decide that a child's enrolment at a boarding school in Australia could not be undertaken by a person other than a parent, without severe detriment to the child's welfare.

Subclause 15.6.25.6

Decide that there are special circumstances justifying travel by a parent for enrolment of the child at boarding school in Australia.

Subclause 15.6.29.2

For the purpose of payment of remedial tuition costs, assess the cost of the tuition if the employee had remained in Australia.
