Chapter 12           Overseas conditions of service – overview

Subclause 12.3.3.2

Approve travel at a class higher than economy class.

A person working in the Personnel Administration Centre in Southern Victoria who is:

-    Overseas Administration Team Leader

-    Personnel Administration Manager Specialist

-    Civilian and Overseas Personnel Administration Centre Manager

-    Director Personnel Administration Centre

Integrated Travel Solutions Director

Paragraph 12.3.5.1.c

Approve a person who is a relative of the employee, their spouse or interdependent partner as a dependant for a specified period.

A person working in the Personnel Administration Centre in Southern Victoria who is:

-    Overseas Administration Team Leader

-    Personnel Administration Manager Specialist

-    Civilian and Overseas Personnel Administration Centre Manager

-    Director Personnel Administration Centre

Subclause 12.3.5.4

For the purpose of approving a person as a dependant, approve a period of between 6 and 12 months as the period for which the dependant lives, or intends to live with the employee at the posting location.

The SES Band 1 employee or BRIG(E) who manages the human resources or personnel function in the Group which is responsible for the posting.

Paragraph 12.3.9.1.b

Decide that it is reasonable to treat a period of duty for longer than six months in total in a series of overseas countries as a long-term posting.

A person working in the Personnel Administration Centre in Southern Victoria who is:

-    Overseas Administration Team Leader

-    Personnel Administration Manager Specialist

-    Civilian and Overseas Personnel Administration Centre Manager

-    Director Personnel Administration Centre

Paragraph 12.3.9.1.c

Extend a period of short-term duty beyond six months.

Clause 12.5.4

Approve an employee to take leave without pay to be employed by the UN or other multi-national force to perform services for a specified period at an overseas location.

A person not below MAJGEN(E)/SES Band 2 who is a Group Head

Director General Personnel Policy and Employment Conditions

Subclause 12.5.6.1

Approve conditions of service to apply to an employee on contract of employment with the UN.

Subclause 12.5.6.2

Approve specific conditions of service to apply to an employee as if the employee were on long-term posting at the employment location.
