Approve payment of the allowance for more than one specific language, having regard to ADF requirements.

Approve a member to be qualified at a lower level of proficiency, who is using language skills in a position, but who has failed to requalify under the Australian Defence Language Proficiency Rating Scale.

Certify that a member who is not otherwise entitled, is appropriately skilled in a language other than English and employed in a position where language skills are essential.
