9.2 Travel and related entitlements on completion of service

When you cease continuous full-time service, you will usually be granted travel and a removal. The removal can be to wherever you wish to live after you cease, providing it is in Australia

Defence will pay storage costs for items already in storage at Commonwealth expense, up to the date you cease. Storage and insurance charges for items left in storage after then are your responsibility.

In certain circumstances you may be able to have your removal during the 12 months before you cease.

You may also apply to defer your discharge removal, to a date up to 12 months after you cease. Any storage charges are your responsibility. Defence will only pay for the removal from store and delivery to your home.

For information about removals, see 6.7, Removal and storage.

Application to Reservists:  No, except for Reservists on continuous full-time service.
