8.9 ADF
Family Health Trial
ADF Family Health Trial gives
most dependants free basic health care. The health care includes basic medical
and dental care for each registered dependant.
This trial will be introduced
in two stages in certain regional and remote locations.
Who is eligible?
You are
eligible if you are a dependant of a permanent member or a reservist on
continuous full-time service and you meet the following criteria.

You
are residing in a trial location.
·
You
are a recognised ADF dependant.
·
You
are recognised for ADF housing purposes.
·
You
are accompanying the member who is posted to the trial location.
Where and when will the trial commence?
Stage 1 of the trial
commenced in May 2009 in:
·
Singleton (NSW)
·
Katherine (NT)
including Derby (WA)
·
·
·
the Pibara region including Karratha, Port Hedland, Camarvon, Tom Price, Newman and Exmouth (WA)
Stage 2 of the trial commenced
in October 2009 in:
·
Townsville,
including Tully (QLD)
·
·
Broome and
Kununurra (WA)
·
Puckapunyal (VIC)
Registering for the trial
To register a dependant for
the trial members will need to complete Form AD 858-1. This form processed by
ADF Family Health Directorate.
Application to Reservists: No, except for Reservists on continuous
full-time service of greater than 6 months.
