5.9 Carer's leave

 

Carer's leave gives you leave to care for and support your sick dependant.  

 

When do you get it?

You may be entitled to carer's leave in any of these situations. 

 

·          You need to care for a sick dependant who lives with you.

·          You need to care for a dependant when the usual carer in your household is sick.

 

No more than five working days of carer's leave may be granted in a leave year. Only days that would otherwise be duty count towards the five days. Leave may be taken in broken periods.

 

Application to Reservists:  No, except for Reservists on continuous full-time service.
