Part-time leave without pay
Part-time leave without pay
allows ADF members to serve part-time. You remain on continuous full-time
service, but are granted leave without pay on a regular basis so that you work
part-time hours. You might want additional time with your children, or to
improve your education, or take a break from full-time work.
When can it be granted?
Part-time leave without pay
is not a right and your application may be refused. You should apply ahead of time.
Normally two months is the minimum notice.
You may work between one and
nine days each fortnight. Part-time leave without pay will be approved for a
fixed period of between three months and two years. It may be possible to
extend for another two-year period.
You may be given reduced
duties during your reduced working hours, or you may job share with somebody
else.
What effect does it have?
Part-time leave without pay
can affect many other conditions. Not only does your salary reduce, but it can
also affect these conditions.
·
Some allowances.
·
Future increments.
·
Future recreation leave accruals.
·
Your rate of pay, if you take maternity leave.
·
Superannuation.
·
Housing and accommodation, if you work
less than five days in a fortnight.
This is not a complete list.
