4.9 Allowance for specialist operations

 

Allowance for specialist operations is paid in recognition of the skills needed to work in an environment of hazard and stress.

 

The allowance can change depending on where you are posted and what you are doing. This is only a summary. Full details are in the ADF Pay and Conditions Manual.

 

Who is eligible?

You may receive the allowance if you are in one of these groups.

 

·          You are a clearance diver.

·          You are a support member to a clearance diving team

·          You are rostered to deal with unpredictable explosives or similarly dangerous materials.

·          You are on designated special duty.

 

What it does to other allowances

You cannot get this allowance if you get special forces disability allowance

(see 4.8).

 

You cannot get any other disability allowance if you get this allowance at the rate for a member on designated special duty (daily rate).

 

Application to Reservists:  Yes.
