Trainee's dependant allowance
Trainee's dependant allowance
can supplement your pay if you are supporting a dependant while you are in
training.
Who is eligible?
Trainees are members who get
a trainee salary. This can include people undertaking recruit training, or
officer trainees, or members on the undergraduate entry scheme. You must be
supporting a dependant (see 8.1,
What category are you in?).
How does it work?
The allowance tops up your
salary and Service allowance so that you are paid the salary of a Private Pay Grade
1.
Other issues
If your dependant has their
own income, you may not be eligible. If your spouse or partner is also a member
and is also entitled, you will share the allowance.
Application to Reservists: No.
