What is the Career Transition Assistance Scheme?

The Career Transition Assistance Scheme (CTAS) provides benefits to help members when they leave the ADF.

 

The scheme includes many types of benefits.

 

·          Career transition advice.

·          ADF Transition Seminars.

·          Career transition training.

·          Career transition management coaching.

·          On-the-job experience.

·          Curriculum vitae coaching.

·          Approved absence to attend career transition activities.

 

The level of help available to members depends upon their length of service.

 

Where can you get help?

Your local resettlement officer has information. You can also find information on the Internet on http://www.defence.gov.au/dsg/organisation/ctas/default.htm.

 

The Department of Veterans' Affairs runs the Transition Management Service for medical discharges on behalf of the Department of Defence. It makes sure members have access to the full range of information and services that are available. There is a fact sheet that you can get by going to http://www.dva.gov.au . You can also call 133 254.
