Normal working hours
There are no minimum
prescribed working hours for the ADF. You are paid on a 24-hour day, seven-day
week basis.
There is no such thing as payment
for overtime. However, commanders set a normal working day taking account of
normal community standards, operational requirements and occupational health
and safety factors.
You are paid Service
allowance to recognise you might work long and irregular hours. See 4.1,
Service allowance.
Application to Reservists: No, except for Reservists on continuous full-time
service. Reservists on Reserve service are paid on a daily basis. They are
expected to work to the normal unit daily work routine.
