Question: Why have I received less pay when we were promised there was Non Reduction Provisions (NRP) with GORPS?
Answer: Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the smooth transition to the new pay structure, there are GORPS and non GORPS related reasons as to why you could have received less pay. The process for each is listed below:

Non GORPS related reasons could include |

· Uniform/accommodation/meal charges/DHA carpet cleaning charges · Fine · Higher Duties Allowance (HDA) has ended (or new period submitted late) · Commencement of allotment · Increased allotment · Married Quarter (MQ) rent has commenced · Commencement of child support allowance · Returned from deployment – cessation of overseas allowances · System initiated debt commenced · Have you recently commissioned and not been placed on Schedule 4B? · Pay advance recovery · Pay restrictions (LWOP, PTLWOP, LSL ½ Pay) · Cessation / late cessation of allowances. |

If you have received less pay for any non GORPS related reasons you need to go through normal pay enquiry processes for your Service. |

GORPS related reasons could include |
|

· Reduction in pay grade Confirm where you should be placed in the new GORPS structure by going to your Service page and checking the area that says "Where have you been placed?" |

· Reduction in skill grade Some categories were restructured so your skill grade may have been adjusted. Confirm where you should be placed in the new GORPS structure by going to your Service page and checking the area that says "Where have you been placed?" |

· Non Reduction Provision (NRP) provision has not been initiated |
|
|
· Incorrectly
placed in an employment category (Navy) /trade (Army)/mustering (RAAF) that
is on a lower pay grade |

· Bank account closed · Bond/Rent advance recovery · Rental allowance cease or variation · Net pay deposit was less than 10% before eg. uniform/accommodation/meals charges taken out · Suspend net pay deposit due to discharge · Previous Out of Cycle payment or pay in advance · Have you commenced LWOP/PTLWOP/LSL (half pay)? · System initiated debt due to overpayment of previous entitlements · Reduction in rank |

GORPS related reasons could include |

· Your pay grade may have changed in the new GORPS structure, but Non Reduction Provision (NRP) provision has not been initiated · Your SVA may not have a Change of Employment Category which means that you have been missed from the GORPS load files |

Question: What do I do when I think I have been placed in the wrong pay grade?
Answer: The possible reasons for your pay grade being incorrect are:
· that your skill grade has been recorded incorrectly on PMKeyS or
· the PMKeyS interface to the pay system has failed to record your higher or lower pay grade.
In both of these instances, you need to go through your normal pay enquiry processes for your Service.
Question: What do I do when I think I am being paid at an incorrect increment?
Answer:
· Your increment may not have been updated on the pay system. To resolve this issue you need to go through your normal pay enquiry processes for your Service.
· If you are a WO1/WO2(CPO) (equivalent), the structure for your increment levels has changed under GORPS. In the first instance, review the new structure. If you moved to one of the increments that was removed from 4 September 2009, Non Reduction Provisions (NRP) will apply.

What happens to my pay if I have been
in a tax-free zone for some of the time since GORPS came into effect on 4
September 2008?
Answer: Your backpay for the time that you were in the tax-free zone will not be taxed, but the rest of the period will be taxed at the normal rate.
