Army Unit Safety Coordinators CourseCourse Outline: This course trains Army personnel to fulfil the role of Unit Safety Co-ordinator (USC), Unit Safety Officer (USO) or Unit Safety Manager (USM). The course consists primarily of classroom instruction with participative exercises and a half-day practical audit activity on the final day. The optimum course panel size is 20 students. Who is eligible for the course: The role of the USC is the co-ordination of safety at unit and sub-unit level and to assist unit commanders with the implementation of safety programs. Accordingly, the target group for the USC course is from SGT to MAJ (and civilian equivalents where appropriate). Attendance on USC courses is restricted to the following:
Duration: 4 days Training Provider: The course is currently delivered by National Occupational Training Services (NOTS) Pty Ltd - for more information visit the NOTS website. Venue: Courses are programmed on a geographic basis to meet the training liability, and to minimise student T&S costs and disruption to normal unit activities. The training is currently conducted by means of a mobile course and is reliant on the sponsoring of courses by units in all major regions around Australia. See PMKeys for the session schedule. Cost: The course delivery is funded by TC-A. Sponsor units are required to provide administrative support in the form of a suitable venue and panel co-ordination.
