Army Applied OH&S Management

Course Outline: The AOHSM course is designed to train selected Army personnel to systematically manage OHS within Functional Commands, Formations and, at the discretion of the Directorate of Safety Management (Land) (DSM(L)), complex major units. The course covers topics including OHS management systems, legislation, health and safety hazards, hazard management, accident investigation, risk management, human physiology and ergonomics, rehabilitation and compensation, measurement and evaluation of OHS performance and site audits.

Who is Eligible for the Course: This course is aimed at the WO2 – MAJ level, with responsibility for OHS management at the following levels in priority order:

    • Functional Command HQs,
    • Formation HQs,
    • Establishments with Corps safety policy responsibilities,
    • Training establishments, and
    • Large or complex units or units with a high-risk profile.

Duration: 11 days

Training Provider: The course is currently delivered by a contractor with a number of presentations from DOHS-A and other guest presenters. This course is now scheduled by ALTC and paneled by NIPA. Nominations are called as per normal HQTC-A procedures. [PMkeys Code 200673]
