The release of the Defence Work Health and Safety Strategic Plan 2012 - 2017, launched in January 2012, provides tools and assistance for Defence people to better understand how the Defence WHS Management System (WHSMS) relates to them and may be beneficial to their workplace.

An 'Incident' includes any injury or near miss including exposure to chemicals/noise/radiation, severe cuts/bruising, disease resulting from employment, incapacity, serious injury and fatality.
