Defence OHS Awards

On behalf of the Defence Occupational Health and Safety Committee (DOHSC) , the Occupational Health, Safety and Compensation (OHSC) Branch manages the Defence OHS Awards program . Supported by Defence Senior Leaders, the Defence OHS Awards recognises outstanding performance by areas within Defence in creating safer working environments. The aim of the Defence OHS Awards is to:

  • Recognise innovation and excellence in the fields of occupational health, safety and rehabilitation;
  • Raise the profile and awareness of occupational health, safety and rehabilitation programs in Defence;
  • Encourage people at Service and Group workplaces throughout Defence, to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that help achieve a safer and healthier work environment.
  • Provide the gateway into the Commonwealth level Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (SRCC) Safety Awards and Australian Safety Compensation Commission (ASCC) Safe Work Australia Awards.

2010 Defence OHS Awards - Entries Close Friday, 20 November 2010

The Defence OHS Awards are open to all Defence Services and Groups. Winners and commendations awarded at Service and Group level should be entered in the Defence OHS Awards. In the absence of a Service or Group program, entries can be submitted directly to the Defence OHS Awards. However, these entries must be supported and endorsed by a Senior Executive and their Group Safety Coordinator.
