Directorate Strategic Planning and Capability Development (DSPCD)

The Program Office took effect from 1 st July 04, forms part of the Occupational Health, Safety and Compensation (OHSC) Branch, and reports directly to DGOHSC.

Program Cell

Implementation of the Defence OHS Strategic Plan will be supported through the provision of centralised program management services, which includes the provision of specialist project, change, design and communications advice. The Program Cell is focussed towards progressively fulfilling the following roles and functions:
  • Coordinate and manage the program of projects to support the Strategic Plan.
  • Manage Stakeholder expectations.
  • Support preparation of business cases.
  • Provide specialist advice, particularly in project and change management.
  • Manage future development of the Defence OHS Management System.
  • Support DGOHSC in reporting program status to the DOHSC.
  • Maintain program management tools and processes.

Management Systems Projects

The Management Systems Projects area is responsible for the management and progression of a number of assigned Projects. Current work is focussed towards:
  • An OHS Regulatory Framework
  • OHS Roles and Responsibilities
  • A Design and Advice Agency
  • Occupational Health Capability

F-111 Board of Inquiry Management

The F-111 Board of Inquiry Management area is responsible for managing implementation of the recommendations from the Inquiry.

Behavioural Baseline Research (BBR)

The Defence Occupational Health and Safety Program Office is conducting Behavioural Baseline Research (BBR) during 2004. The research contributes towards being able to comprehensively define what Defence requires in terms of an OHS Management System, the gaps between what is required and what currently exists.
