'ARMY ALPINE CENTRE' - MOUNT BULLER Location The Army Alpine Centre, Mt Buller is located approximately 300 km north east of Melbourne at one of Australia's premier ski resorts. During the snow season it provides access to the resort for Service personnel and their dependants at an economical cost. The Army Alpine Centre is only open during the winter ski season. Facilities The lodge is a two storey, brick and timber construction, with six bunk rooms sleeping four persons each. Located on each storey are separate shower and toilet facilities. The lower level also contains ski storage and preparation areas and a large, efficient drying room. The upper level has a communal lounge/dining room and kitchen, opening on to an outdoor deck area with a gas BBQ. All kitchenware, cooking facilities and bedding is supplied. Guests are required to bring bed linen, towels and food. Bed linen is available for hire at a nominal charge if required. Parking Facilities Private vehicles are not permitted on the mountain during the snow season. During the winter months you will be met at the carparks by an attendant who will show you where to park. The four - wheel drive oversnow taxi, then meet you to transport you to the village and lodge. Eligibility Those eligible to stay in the Army units are as follows:
You will be required to verify your eligibility by providing your Service/PMKeys number, rank and current unit (where applicable) on the Booking Confirmation Form you will be required to return with your deposit. An entitled member may bring his/her family and a maximum of seven guests depending upon vacancies. Tariffs Rates are levied on a per person, per night basis.

Bookings can be made during the following office hours: 1000 - 1430, Monday to Friday Please note: Bookings for the snow season are open from Thursday 1 March to members of the Australian Army. All other eligible categories may book from Monday 2 April. Booking Cancellations. In the event that cancellation of a booking occurs within 30 days or more prior occupancy, a refund of the full amount paid, less a $14 booking fee will occur. In the event that a cancellation occurs less than 30 days before occupancy this will result in forfeiture of 50% of total costs. During the official ski season a refund of 50% will be payable if booking is cancelled due to insufficient snow for skiing – the official MT Buller WEBSITE will be the basis for that decision. Group Bookings. At the discretion of the committee, groups may be booked into the Lodge (ie. Unit bookings and inter area/service sport). Each group is to have a nominated member in charge and a $10.00 security deposit per person is required. This security deposit is to be paid to the Lodge Manager on arrival. The security deposit will be refunded in total provided the Lodge is suitably cleaned and inspected by the Manager prior to the group departure. Payment For a booking to be confirmed, the member is required to pay a 50% deposit of the full amount within fourteen days of the reservation been made. If the deposit is not received within the required period, the accommodation will be lost and reletting will be required. Deposit payments can be made personally via cheque/money order or credit card. The remaining 50% of total tariff must be paid at least six weeks prior to staying at the lodge. Linen/Cleaning Blankets, pillowcases and limited doonas are provided. Guests are requested to bring their own pillowcases, doona covers, sheets (or sleeping bag). Under Victorian State Health Regulations pillowcases, sheets / sleeping bags are to be used. Linen is available at a cost of $7.00 per person (1 x pillowcase, 2 x sheets and doona cover). 'RAN SKI CLUB LODGE' - THREDBO Location This beautiful lodge is located at the mountain resort of Thredbo, in the Kosciusko National Park, approximately 600 km south of Sydney. It is in use throughout the year, not only during winter when it boasts some of Australia's best snowfields, but also in summer when it is ideal for horse riding, tennis, mountain bike riding, trout fishing, sailing, bush walking and golf. The lodge is also well located for access to the entire Snowy Mountains area including the Snowy Scheme itself, Jindabyne, Eucumbene and the Murray River. Ski equipment may be hired at Thredbo or in advance if required. Summer sporting equipment may be hired in the village. Accommodation The lodge has: a. Thirteen x two bed rooms; b. One x three bed room; and c. One x four bed room. Facilities The lodge features a communal kitchen equipped with stoves, microwave ovens, refrigerators, gas barbecue and all kitchenware. In addition there is a TV room, lounge room with open fire and a large sundeck complete with gas barbecue. Doonas, blankets and pillows are all provided. You need only bring bed linen, towels, personal necessities and food. The village has a supermarket, restaurant, newsagent, hotel and other entertainment facilities. Membership The lodge may only be used by members or accompanied guests of a member of The RAN Ski Club. Ordinary (voting) Membership is only open to current or past members of the RAN or Naval Reserve. Other Service personnel and Defence Public Servants may apply for Associate (non-voting) Membership. The spouses and children of Ordinary and Associate Members may also join as Family (non-voting) Members. THE RAN SKI CLUB LODGE PERISHER VALLEY Location This lodge is on the south eastern slope of Perisher Valley, about one kilometre from the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal, day car park and the Perisher Blue Ski Centre. Perisher Blue Ski Resort comprises the once separate resorts of Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega Village and Blue Cow. In terms of ski lift capacity and lift accessible terrain it is Australias largest ski resort. The area possesses an extensive network of Nordic ski trails, the more popular of which are regularly groomed, and ready access to "back country". Accommodation The lodge has 19 bunks in double cabins, each sharing a bathroom with the adjoining cabin. Facilities The lodge has a communal kitchen equipped with stoves, microwave ovens, refrigerators and all kitchenware. The building is heated electrically and a large slow-combustion wood fire in the lounge area provides the focal point for apres-ski activities. The main lounge has a CD/Cassette/Radio and there is a television set with VCR in the lower lounge/rumpus room. The lodge is equipped with blankets, doonas and pillows, so you need only bring sheets, pillow cases and towels, food (except condiments), drink and personal belongings. The lodge is run on a self-catering, self-maintaining basis and all those staying in the lodge are expected to do communal domestic chores as well as cleaning-up after themselves. Smoking is not permitted inside the lodge. A supermarket/liquor store in the Perisher Skitube Terminal is open in winter only. Also in winter only there are a Medical Centre, newsagent cum video hire, pharmacy and shops selling skiing equipment, clothing, souvenirs and jewellery. THE RAN SKI CLUB LODGE MT BULLER Location To reach Mt Buller from Melbourne, the best routes are via Yarra Glen or Whittlesea to Yea, then on to Mansfield and Mirrimbah, a driving time 3 to 3.5 hours. From Sydney or Canberra, take the Hume Highway and turn left to Mansfield from the Benalla bypass. You pay any entry fee to the area at Mirrimbah where you will be advised whether chains need to be fitted. You proceed up the mountain until you reach a point where you will be directed by mountain staff where to park. Unless directed otherwise, you wait by your car for four-wheel-drive transport to the village and the lodge. The Navy Ski Lodge is situated at the end of The Avenue which commences outside the Dooroora Hotel. Accommodation The lodge is a 62 bed complex comprising two, three and four berth bedrooms. Facilities The ground floor contains the main lounge with open fireplace and bar, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms, Managers flat and pay phone in foyer. The first floor has another lounge and more bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets. The lodge has a communal kitchen equipped with stoves, microwave ovens, refrigerators and all kitchenware. The lodge is equipped with blankets, doonas and pillows, so you need only bring sheets, pillow cases and towels, food (except condiments), drink and personal belongings.
