They are trained professionals who are able to provide pastoral care and counselling to members and their families, for issues such as environmental adjustment, interpersonal conflict, pre-marriage and relationship preparation, family or marital disharmony, vocational decisions, the military lifestyle, loneliness, and spiritual well-being. Chaplains visit members in detention, visiting live-in accommodation areas and married quarters, and refer to other helping professionals.
Chaplains provide spiritual and religious care through worship services, the occasional offices (Marriage, Baptism, Funerals etc), ministry to the sick and grief stricken, and religious education.
Chaplains are on-call and available after hours.
