St John Ambulance is an easily recognisable organisation in the
Australian community but it is less well known that it has a significant
place in Defence and industry.
St John is a well established small to medium enterprise (SME),
which has developed a mutually beneficial business relationship
with Defence as a preferred supplier for First Aid training, kits
and consumables.
The history of St John dates back to medieval times, however, the
modern self-funding not for profit charitable organisation delivers
the latest technology in total first aid solutions to all levels
of business enterprises and local community.
National Business Development Manager, Mrs Gail Vaughn emphasizes
St John’s dedication to maintaining their humanitarian goals
in addition to continued business evolution.
“Through our skills knowledge and experience we continue
to define industry-leading best practice in the delivery of total
first aid solutions across corporate and industrial sector,”
she said.
St John has over 400 service delivery locations across Australia,
which are able to provide Defence and Industry with quality first
aid and emergency care training at locations such as various Defence
regional and capital city locations.
“We currently supply Defence with a selection of first aid
equipment and Defence specific customised combat first aid kits,
including defibrillators, oxygen resuscitation equipment, trauma
packs and medical components,” Mrs Vaughn said.
DMO Chief Executive Officer Dr Stephen Gumley has noted that 70
per cent of Defence and Industry Conference attendees this year
were from the private sector, and has highlighted the potential
within Defence industry for non traditional suppliers. Mrs Vaughn
pointed out that St John provides a unique opportunity to utilise
the flexibility and capabilities of a non-traditional supplier.
