Have you updated your details?: The Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance is giving suppliers the opportunity to register in its new online portal. If your company was previously registered in the now superseded portal you will need to reregister as the information was not transferable to the new medium- please read the article for further detail…
In September 2006, the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Alliance joined forces with the Industry Capability Network (ICN) under a memorandum of understanding to develop a new, more advanced online portal to handle the hundreds of potential suppliers keen to register their interest with the AWD Project.
The previous incarnation of the portal, whilst functional, lacked some of the features of the new system developed with ICN. The new system now allows companies to go back and edit their records, ensuring contact details are up to date. It also allows users from AWD to perform complex searches of the records and to set up ‘tag sets’ to more easily find groups of suppliers again in the future. Most importantly, the new system builds on the existing ICN database, giving the project increased exposure across the country.
ICN has a long history of providing support for large-scale projects such as AWD, and brings with it vast knowledge of local and national suppliers. AWD will have access to this knowledge whenever it is needed.
Since the Portal’s launch on February 15, over 500 companies have registered their interest, and this number continues to grow daily.
The AWD Alliance stand at this year’s Avalon Air Show featured access to the supplier registration portal to give potential suppliers the opportunity to register. Whilst some industry representatives took the opportunity to register on the day, many more chose to do so from the comfort of the office.
If you know of any companies wanting to get involved with the AWD Program, or who may have registered on the now superseded portal, please encourage them to register their interest by visiting www.ausawd.com and clicking on supplier registration.
