Direction set for next 12 months at ADM Congress
Addressing the sixth annual Australian Defence Magazine (ADM) Congress, the then Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Procurement, Mr Greg Combet, reiterated the Government’s commitment to increasing the Defence budget by 3 per cent per annum in real terms through to 2017-18.

Streamlined SADI announced
Significant changes have been made to the Skilling Australian Defence Industry (SADI) program that will save time and make it much easier for defence industry companies to take advantage of the funding initiative.

M113 project update
The current Land 106 project, will upgrade 431 M113 vehicles to improve armour protection, mobility, firepower and habitability. The Australian Government provided second pass approval for the project in June 2002 to upgrade 350 vehicles, and a contract was signed with Tenix Defence (now BAE Systems Australia Defence Pty Ltd (BAESAD)) on 15 July 2002.
