Cambridge Technologies has
just taken delivery of its own
CAPRIS 50-300 UV Laser
Wire and Cable Marker.

It’s all in the family at Cambridge Technologies when it comes to supplying high quality connectors and interconnecting accessories. Stephen Ralph, who is Managing Director, works alongside his three sons Eliot, Linton and Dylan. The company has only eight staff…but they are achieving big things on the international stage.

For more than 25 years, Cambridge Technologies has supplied military specification, wire, cable, connectors and interconnect accessories. They have worked with the Defence, Commercial Aircraft sector, motorsport, computer, medical and electronics industries just to name a few.

They also stock and distribute, high performance interconnect products. These products include wire, cable, connectors, tubing and interconnect solutions. Their vision is clear – providing only high quality products to their customers, and a long standing commitment to providing customers with competent technical support.

With lasers becoming a preferred method of marking wire and cable, it’s no surprise that Stephen and the team have just taken delivery of its own CAPRIS 50-300 UV Laser Wire and Cable Marker.

The CAPRIS 50-300 has been designed for higher volume maintenance repair, overhaul and light manufacturing applications. It effectively halves the cost of laser marking wires and cables for low and medium volume applications, compared to previous equipment.

Typical applications include aircraft maintenance repair, overhaul and modification centres, low to medium volume harness production, cellular manufacturing and rework of wires in support of high volume wire shops.

CAPRIS 50-300 is designed for processing single core wires and jacketed multi core cables employed in the aerospace industries. It can mark, measure and cut capabilities and can process wire and cable from 26 AWG up to 6 AWG. The system employs solid state laser technology and requires no day to day consumables and only simple routine maintenance.

For Stephen, there is no compromise on quality. “We have an obligation to our current and future service men and woman to provide products to the highest of quality,” he says. “As a small company we are big on developing Australian skills and I believe we are at the forefront of technologies.”

With Cambridge Technologies an Australian owned and operated company, Stephen knows first hand the important work Australian companies undertake for the Australian Defence Force. “We have a strong commitment to networking with fellow Australian companies to get a competitive edge over our overseas competitors,” he says.

Stephen will be attending the Farnborough Air Show in July 2008 with support from both the Federal and State Government.  The Victorian Government is offering to support Victorian Companies attending Farnborough Airshow.  This event is in conjunction with the Australian Industries & Defence Network Inc ( AIDN-VIC)
