	Australian industry to play a key role in amphibious sustainment The Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) intends to maintain the Australian Defence Force’s new amphibious ships, procured under Joint Project 2048, in Australia with Australian resources.
	Building a stronger local defence industry Defence Material Organisation’s Defence Export Unit (DEU) officially opened for business on 30 January; with the primary role of this new resource being to assist local defence industry to market its products globally.
	Prime to enhance opportunities for AUS industry Boeing has established an Office of Australian Industry Capability (OAIC) in Seattle, Washington, to focus on identifying bid opportunities for Australian aerospace companies.
	Research boost for materials capability Defence industry and the research sector are pooling their resources to establish a Defence Materials Technology Centre that will work to drive innovation in defence technology and enhance the skill sets of Australian workers.
