Tank Driver Trainer Advanced Gunnery Training System Point of Contact

Simulators

LAND 907 intends to use simulation to reduce the cost of training. Six Advanced Gunnery Training Systems (AGTS) and one Tank Driver Trainer (TDT) will be purchased. Both simulation systems provide for 'after action review' and use terrain maps from around the world.

Tank Driver Trainer

The TDT is an electrically driven, six degrees of freedom, full motion system that simulates driver training. It is designed to train drivers in different terrain types, and a variety of weather, visibility and vehicle conditions.

The diverse training scenarios it provides include:

• malfunctions;
• bad weather;
• truck and aircraft loading;
• blackout driving in a convoy;
• cross country; and
• urban driving.

Key Features are:

• advanced image generator;
• 132 degree field of view optic display;
• six degree of freedom motion base;
• full physical replication of drivers compartment;
• instructor station; and
• open/closed hatch operation.

Advanced Gunnery Training System

The AGTS provides a simulated environment for the gunner and commander.

Key Features are:

• partial replication of gunner's and commander's stations;
• distributed interactive simulation for tank troop and squadron training;
• after action review station; and
• PC-based visual systems to reduce life cycle cost.
