Project Overview

JP 2095 Phase 1 will acquire 16 new vehicles compliant with international safety standards to replace the existing Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) capability provided by the current fleet of Trident TFA (Trucks, Fire, Aircraft). These vehicles will be capable of providing Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) services at those bases where the RAAF provides its own ongoing ARFF services (Amberley, Tindal, Williamtown and Richmond), and will also have the potential to deploy on expeditionary operations.

The acquisition of 16 ARFF vehicle systems through open tender was approved in December 2005. Introduction into service commenced in August 2008 and will be completed by June 2009.

To date, 13 vehicles have been delivered to RAAF bases; four to RAAF Base Amberley, two to RAAF Security and Fire School (SFS), four to RAAF Base Williamtown and three to RAAF Base Tindal.

The last three vehicles are scheduled for delivery to RAAF Base Richmond during April 2009.
